Start with what you can afford and have the time for, and scale up as your business grows. Find your niche. The days of department stores are over. Find a need, something that a certain group of people want but can't get in the big department stores, and fill it.Lesonsky advises: You can't compete with the greats, so you have to find where the greats aren't and delve into their niches. Have an online presence.
3).Even if you don't plan to start an online retail business, keep in mind that the internet can still play a valuable role in your business. An online presence removes the limitations of physical location and adds literally millions to your customer base. It's also a great tool for promoting yourself and letting people, even in your own area, know you're there and what you do.Refuse to stop. Successful entrepreneurship requires creativity, energy and the will to keep going when it fails.
